          This is a word document where you can see the oral presentations assigned dates. Any changes need to be announced well in advance (minimum a week).

          Needless to say, you'll have to negotiate the alterations and, also, let me know about them. These changes will only be allowed when properly justified.

          Hiya! My name's Pilar Castro and I'm going to be your English teacher for this academic year.
          Hope you enjoy my lessons and, therefore, learn everything you need in order to get to the next level.
          Here, you will find all sorts of extra material and activities, so that you can have further practice and find it easier to follow my lessons.
          To begin with, in this section there are three short documents you can download, if you find them useful.

Please take a look at the phonetics page. For a short period of time you can find the material to be able to do your weekly phonetics task on that page.

          I'm sad to inform you that the EOI library needs funding and ,therefore, I encourage you to become active members of ACEM by paying its corresponding fees. Until we reach the necesary amount of money, it'll remain close.

Reading and Listening Schedule (A collection of listening and reading exercises)

Listening SESSIONS
In this section there are 15 listenings altogether. You will also find the audiofiles, listening exercises, keys and  scripts in it.
NOTE: If you still feel like you could do with some extra- listening practice, please go to the LISTENING page, which contains TWO EXTRA PRACTICE links.

Please notice that right below you will find the above-mentioned 15 listening exercises divided into three folders:
FOLDER 1(Listening practice 1) contains one exercise (with its corresponding audio file, pdf task and key)
FOLDER 2(Listening practice 2) contains 4 exercises.(with their corresponding audio files, pdf tasks and keys)
FOLDER 3(Listening practice 3) contains 10 exercises,(with their corresponding audio files, pdf tasks and keys)

You may find it useful to do your listening tasks by following the three indicated steps below.

Step 1. Listen to the corresponding audio file.

The following schedule shows the distribution of Listening, Reading Comprehension and Use of English exercises. In order to access every exercise you will have to follow the indicated route below.

Please notice that (unlike for the listening exercises which can be accessed from this very same entry) for the reading comprehension and use of English exercises you need to go to the Reading and UoE page and click on the "EXTRA- PRACTICE (USE OF ENGLISH, ETC)" link. SOME of the reading comprehension exercises also have and audio file.

The UoE exercises can be found from session 8 onwards.

          See class library page for (audio) books. Please remember we decided to allow ourselves a 4 week period of time for every book, and that means we should be starting our 1st book on the 9/10th of October and finishing it by the 6/7th of November

          See the phonetics page for "Ship or Sheep" follow- up . We shall be doing a chapter per week, starting on the 16/17th of October.

          The conversation groups will be in full swing by the 16th of October. If you want to join them talk to the head person, even if you are a late comer.

Class premium system

     Premium system: These tokens are not mere pieces of paper but a way of expressing our gratitude for something you’ve done for the group. Have them ready and printed for my signature. There’ll be a surprise, depending on the number of tokens you get.

Initial evaluation

          Dear students, this link contains an initial evaluation for you to refresh some of last year's points, so it is an optional activity. It is made up of a reading comprehension, listening and their corresponding keys.

     Las composiciones se entregarán preferentemente en clase y habrá un margen de una semana (una vez establecidas) para ello. Se intentará que el plazo para el grupo de lunes sea de lunes a lunes, para el del martes, de martes a martes. 

          Los trabajos realizados fuera de plazo no serán corregidos. Solo los alumnos que no puedan entregar la composición en clase, podrán remitirla a esta dirección de correo electrónico:
